Focusing on the authorized patented technology of hydrogen compressed natural gas (HCNG) from Tsinghua University, self-developed core technologies of hydrogen making by natural gas reformation and integration and control of hydrogen fuel cells and other related technologies, through the way of H+ (Hydrogen Energy +), the company operates the whole industrial ecological chain of hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen transportation and hydrogen usage, and can provide products, services and solutions that meet market needs, including: hydrogen preparation schemes of hydrogen production by water electrolysis, hydrogen production by steam cracking, hydrogen production by pressure swing adsorption and hydrogen production by natural gas reformation, the R & D, production and sales of vehicles of hydrogen compressed natural gas, production and operation of hydrogen fuel cell and hydrogen fuel cells vehicles, and hydrogen energy equipment operation and investment and construction of hydrogen refueling station. Furthermore, the company extended its business scope to hydrogen energy application, such as anhydrous ethanol production by hydrogen making from waste resources, and energy conservation and environmental protection of natural gas boilers, etc.

HCNG Technology

After the natural gas is blended with 20% of hydrogen, the automobile exhaust emissions will meet the “National VI” standard, which is the most advanced and leading technology in the world.

Downward compatibility: Natural gas can still be used even if it is lack of hydrogen.

Meanwhile, the hydrogen re-fueling station has the function for re-fueling both HCNG and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Besides, it can also be used as a re-fueling station for gas-electric hybrid, gas-oil mixing and gas-electric oil mixing.

Joint Research & Development Technology

H2 ERA and Hebei Rui’an Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. are jointly developing the technologies of the complete set of equipment and process flow of “High-efficiency Water Cracking Hydrogen Energy with Low-nitrogen Combustion System”.

H+ Components

Increase the proportion of hydrogen in the internal combustion engine through R & D, increase hydrogen compressed natural gas gradually by 30%–50%–100%, and develop internal combustion engine of pure hydrogen with zero carbon emissions and ultra-low NOX emissions.

H2 ERA has been doing research on increasing R & D in the industry and civil field of hydrogen compressed natural gas, especially make great efforts in R & D of pipeline of hydrogen compressed natural gas, and blend the electricity from abandoned water, wind and discarded-light to its fullest extent through the method of hydrogen storage energy into the natural gas pipeline, while developing hydrogen production technology by fossil energy and waste exhaust gas, so as to improve the ways of hydrogen energy supply.

Hydrogen + Diesel

The advantages of hydrogen compressed diesel:

It can effectively reduce the discharge of soot particles. At low and medium loads, it can effectively reduce NOX emissions. It also can improve the combustion quality and save fuel. Meanwhile, adding of hydrogen can effectively reduce carbon emissions.

Hydrogen + Gasoline

The advantage of hydrogen compressed gasoline:

Adding hydrogen at idle, can effectively reduce the emissions of HC and NOX. It can greatly improve the in-cylinder combustion and increase the cylinder pressure, which is beneficial to the acting of engine and save fuel. The adding of hydrogen can effectively reduce carbon emissions.

Successful Case

The company’s partner, Sanhewu Environmental Protection Energy Technology Co., Ltd. produced hydrogenation units on the car, online hydrogen production, and online hydrogenation, can sharply reduce emissions.

HCNG Boiler

According to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: “Green Paper on Climate Change: Report on Climate Change”, the main source of pollutants for smog is boiler heating, which accounts for 21%; if the natural gas combustion temperature in gas boilers exceeds 1200℃, a large amount of nitrogen oxides will be produced, and nitrogen oxides are one of the main causes of haze weather.

According to the Draft Version of “Air Pollutant Emission Standard of Boiler in Beijing” prepared by the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau in January 2015, the nitrogen oxide emission from the new gas boiler in Beijing will be reduced to 30 mg/m3 on April 1, 2017, and the existing gas boiler should be reduced to below 80 mg/m3, which is much stricter than the current emission standards.

The effluent concentration of nitrogen oxides in gas boilers of Beijing is now roughly between 120 mg/m3 and 200 mg/m3, and the technology of reducing NOX emissions will be in great demand in the future.

The number of gas boilers in Beijing has exceeded 10,000 units now, and the amount of gas boiler holdings will continue to increase with the advancement of the “Coal Change to Gas” project.

According to the Company’s previous technical research, after hydrogen compressed natural gas, firstly, it can greatly increase the limit of lean burning; secondly, it can speed up the combustion. Accelerating the combustion speed can reduce combustion detonation and reduce hydrocarbon emissions. The biggest benefit of lean burning is sharply reducing the highest combustion temperature. The boiler adopts 10%-20% of hydrogen-added fuel, which can reduce carbon emissions, and greatly reduce the emissions of NOx and unburned hydrocarbons.

It is possible to reduce the current 120-200 mg/m3 to 30 mg/m3 or even lower. In the future, emissions will be strict throughout the country, the transformation and hydrogen usage of hundreds of thousands of hydrogen compressed boilers will bring large profits.

According to the test results of the research, using a 30% hydrogen mixture, the gas turbine outlet temperature can reach 1,600 °C. The test proves that it can meet the requirements of ultra-low emission of nitrogen oxide, combustion oscillation and other constraints, and stable combustion can be attained.

It is no need substantial changes of the existing equipment, the firing technology using natural gas and hydrogen mixture will reduce emissions in a large scale, and will be a practical solution in the future when emissions controlling is tighter.
